I would like to introduce to you my new farm help... or at least she will be one day.
Her name is Sunny (Sunflower), of course we named her for a flower :-). She is such a joy to us and on cloudy days she is my sunshine. She is trying very hard to establish her position here, making sure that all the plants know who is boss now. She tells the flowers that if they don't grow tall and quick, they just might get a stem bitten off. OUCH! Well, we at least are listening and learning.. Introducing.... my girl Sunny!!!!!

What a wonderful group showed up on a snowy Saturday morning to attend our workshop on seed starting.
This group was excited to begin their own gardening adventures. They each went home with a seed tray full of selected vegetables and flowers. The picture above is from one of the group, happy to show off their babies! In just a few months these seedlings will be producing beautiful produce and flowers 💐!!! Do you ever get the feeling that someone or some thing is watching you following you?
I did and I miss that feeling...:( Always got those feelings when my faithful companion was by my side. I never moved an inch that she wasn’t with me. She was my constant companion and a faithful guardian. She protected me from critters especially Mr. terrible awful snake. Jewel left us in June and although I do not see her I still feel her watching and waiting for me. Well, after months of work and anticipation....ta da!! Blooms!
Every morning now I wake up early, grab my coffee and run out to the garden, just to see what is in bloom or what is on the verge of blooming. Of course, I hope no one is looking as I am often still in my jammies! Not only is it wonderful to see the different blooms, but now I can begin to relax a little knowing that I will have flowers to share. For a while now, my husband has been listening to me despairing over the fact that "I'm never going to have flowers!" Oh me of little faith! God give me more faith in you and your provision! ,About a week ago, a friend asked me if I would be able to create a bouquet for her daughter's birthday party! A Tea Party birthday to be exact with a Alice in Wonderland theme.
Now y"all know that the weather here has been, as I said before, schizophrenic. I wanted to do it for her, but was still a little unsure of what I would have available. So... I was very excited when I saw the first blooms of the Alium planted last fall, purple and white, and then to have my favorite roses begin to bloom. Seeing this miracle occur, I began to fashion a petite bouquet suitable for a Wonderland party. My little customer was thrilled and so was I! |
